Hazel not processing .mp4 correctly Sun May 31, 2020 10:12 am • by MrMxyzptlk
I have the latest version of Hazel on MacOS Catalina.
I did read the manual, and searched the forum first.

My rules are all very basic, I only process my downloads folder and move files based on their extensions to the appropriate folders. Most of the time this works; however I have an odd behavior occurring on .mp4 files.

The video rule checks for any of many video file types based on extension (.avi, .mov, .mp4, etc...).
If have selected the 'if any', and the action is move to specific folder; this is a current folder.
I double checked and the if 'extension' 'is' '.mp4' is setup correctly.

When I download any .mp4 files they are being processed by my 'catch all' rule, which I have as the last rule, instead of my video rule. If I uncheck my 'catch all' rule, the file doesn't get moved at all.

The catch all is set to 'if any' and I have selected 'any file'.

Please assist.

Thank you for your time.

It's working now after I realized the mp4 was in a subfolder...
