Nuked all of my video

I wrote a bad rule that allowed Hazel to delete about 10TB of video.

I turned Hazel off after about 10 seconds of noticing what it was doing. But it kept running anyway. Why?

See screenshot here: https://take.ms/o0L9E You can see Hazel is "Stopped", but it still kept running the Rules against my directories.

I even paused all my Rules and it kept going. Just nuked years worth of content and I don't understand why.

Stopping may not be immediate. It may take up to a full pass before it takes effect as Hazel tries to do so in a manner where things are not left in an inconsistent state. If it's a real emergency, I would suggest launch Activity Monitor and killing all Hazel processes there.

Also, note that Hazel's rule do not delete files outright. If you had the files sent to trash, then you should be able to recover them there.

I came here to say this, your files, normally, shouldn't be definitely erased. Could you get them back?
