Same rule, different folders Thu Jan 30, 2020 5:04 pm • by Armando
Hello,
I wonder if there is a way to have the same rule operating on different folders.
Right now, I have a long list of folders in my left pane all with the same rule (and some specific ones) and, although it works, it's somewhat an "eyesore".

Thank you

Are all the folders under a common folder? If so, it might be better to monitor the common folder and use a subfolder rule to navigate to the folders where the other rule will be run.

You can also sync rules via a common file.

Hello,
no, they are not.
They are under different locations (not even dealing with the same subject)

Did you try the sync rules option?

I don't think it applies, all folders are on the same machine and the same account.
According to Hazel's manual sync rules works on different machines working under the same cloud, as far as I understand it

That doesn't matter. It syncs to a file. You can have that file synced between machines but it can also be shared amongst folders locally. Give it a shot and report back if it doesn't work for you.

Thank you. It seems to work. I'll have to keep a long list of folders but I figure there's nothing that can be done about.

Thanks for your help
