Destination folder unavailable.... Tue Jan 28, 2020 2:36 am • by PascalB
Hello,

Since Hazel version 4.4.4 some of my rules moving files automatically are throwing a notification that the destination folder is unavailable.

Is there any issue with the latest version of Hazel? I did not change anything and the destination folder does exists.

Thanks for help

When you edit the rule, does the icon for the destination folder looked faded out? When you hover over it, it should show the full path. Make sure the folder is actually there at that location.

Yes, the full path shows up correctly.
The folder does exists but Hazel keep saying it is unavailable.

I also clicked "relocate folder" and selected it again. But still, not working

Is there anything notable about this folder? Is it on a different drive or a network share or Dropbox?

No but I just notice something weird.
The issue is not due to the folder but the file instead.

My rule is very simple. It is attached to the Download folder and each time there is a file with a specific tag, it moves the file to another folder.
In the folder I have pdf file with that specific tag. When choosing preview in Hazel and select the file, Hazel says the rule matches. However Hazel keep throwing the notification saying "[Error] Move failed: Destination folder /Users/PB/Documents/Pascal Berten/Compta et gestion/Pièces comptables/A classer is unavailable. Will try again later."

When I select another file in the Download folder and set the tag on it, file is moved by Hazel to the same destination folder.

This is weird. I'll move the file manually.

That is strange. Just for the record, what version of macOS are you on?

Can you replicate it or is it just that one file?

Hi,
I found the way to replicate this.
This happens to any file that has multiple tags, one of which being the "A Classer" that should trigger the move to another folder.

It seems that the criteria "contains" for Tags is not working properly anymore.

Can you post/email in a log excerpt showing the full flow of a file with this tag?

Just to be sure I understand your request :)
You want me to send the Hazel log with a sample file. The log is the one I can see when clicking the log button in the Hazel info window? Is this enough?

Shall I send this to the mail provided via the "contact support" button?

Yes, that's the correct log. Search for the file in the log and send me the excerpt pertaining to it.
