Preference pane problems

I am getting an error "could not load hazel preferences pane". I tired reinstalling but it get me nowhere.

What version of macOS and Hazel are you using? Did you download Hazel from this site or some other one?

Latest macOS.
Hazel was downloaded from this site.
I was running it a while ago but uninstalled it.

Launch Console and try loading it again. Look for any error messages from System Preferences.

I don’t understand “launch console”.
This is the error I get when in system preferences.

Console is located in /Applications/Utilities. It shows the system logs. Once that is open, trigger the problem and look for anything related to System Preferences.

I would like to add to the discussion that I have intermittent problems with the Hazel Preference Pane refusing to close.

Hazel will still function and allow me to change rules, but when I go to close the Hazel Preference Pane, it will not let me leave. I have to Force Quit the System Preferences to make it close.

Happens approximately one out of three times I open it.

Do you have steps to replicate it on demand? Are you willing to collect some diagnostics that I can forward to Apple?
