We need 53 weeks? Thu Jan 02, 2020 9:32 pm • by PhilM
Hi

I use a "sort into weeks" rule to divide my receipts up. The rule simply calls for the year, gives a name, then asks it to add the week number. But my more recent receipts (29/Dec/2019) were moved into the 2019 Week 1 folder. Really they belong into a Week 53. Maybe I've done something wrong, or perhaps its the program not coping with that extra time at the end of the year.

(I wanted to include a picture - but I don't have a public site to post it from. Only Dropbox, and that didn't seem to work. If I could post it, it shows the rule, and on the right hand side the folder where the receipts are sorted, with the new ones in a "week 01 folder").

Any thoughts/help? I want it to be week 53 as it were, with this Sun (5/Jan) being week 1 of 2020.

Thanks

Phil

I think it may just be due to interpretation of weeks. According to this, this week is week 1: https://www.epochconverter.com/weeknumbers

Yet the 29/Dec/2019 was moved to 2019 Receipts Wk 01 folder, rather than creating a Wk 53 - that's what surprised me. Also, my Dominos Pizza on NYE 31/Dec/2019 was also moved to 2019 Receipts Wk 01 folder. Only my receipts in 2020 (3/Jan) were moved into a 2020 folder which Hazel created, then followed with the subfolders.

So still not getting why they are moved into a week 01 folder

According to this, 2019 only had 52 weeks: https://www.epochconverter.com/weeks/2020

If anything, it should have been moved to the Wk52 folder. As for the Dec 31 one, I'm guessing it's just that odd edge case. The year itself in the date is 2019 so that is probably what is used.
