Problems Printing and moving Wed Nov 20, 2019 11:13 pm • by mschneider
I'm on OS X 10.14.6, with Hazel 4.4.2. What is happening is I have the following logic.
If any File
Open with Application <My Printer>
Move to folder <Another Folder>

What is happening is that Hazel is just moving the file to another Folder. Nothing ever hits my print queue. If I remove the move command, then it will print. But then I'm left with a file in my print queue folder.

I did try to separate out the logic into a print state on if any file and a move statement on if any file. But that doesn't seem to do it either. It seems I can do one or the other, but not both.

How would I get around this issue?

Try moving first then printing. The problem with the "Open" action is that it hands off the file to the other application, then returns to continue the next action. The app may or may not have done anything with the file yet.

Thank you for the quick response. I would not have thought about putting the process in that order. But upon testing just now, it does seem to be working as intended. Thank you!
