need help with Hazel Wed Sep 18, 2019 8:18 am • by mrgreeneyes
Hello,

I would like to set up a rule for a specific folder, that it automatically purges any subfolders and deletes the subfolder.

I tried many times to have it done, and I cant seem to get it to work.

can someone make a rule and I will change it to reflect my folder?

please and thanks.

What does "purge" mean in this case? If it's empty? If it hasn't been accessed in a while? Can you post images of what you have so far?

ok so what I want it to do is,

I have a downloads folder, that all my torrents go into when they are completed, and all the movies and tv shows I download come in folders, I want hazel to dump all the files in those subfolders then delete the empty folder.

I havent started any rules as I cant seem to figure it out. and I cant post a screenshot I am currently at work.

When do you want to dump them? I'm guessing you don't want to do it once the files appear so you'll need to specify what conditions will trigger this purge.

I would like it to dump the files once the downloads are in the main folder that the rules will be watching.

Seems odd to through them away right after you downloaded them. "Date added is after Date last matched" will match when the files are first added but I'm getting the feeling that's not what you actually want here.
