PDFs stoped moving. "Kind" is "document" vs "PDF" problem?

Hi.

- I think I need help. Hope someone has time.

- I have many rules that move certain documents (e.g., PDFs, Word docs, etc).
- Hazel has run the rules for years.
- Recently, I noticed that PDFs were not being moved.
- I checked the Preview feature.
- The PDFs matched all conditions except the "kind" "is" "document".
- I changed this to "kind" "is" "PDF" and Preview then showed all conditions matched.
- Indeed, when the modified rule ran, the PDF moved as desired.

- Haven’t PDFs always been a subset of "documents" in the Hazel world?
- Has something changed? Am I missing something?

- I’d rather not make a whole parallel set of rules to handle PDFs in additions to other documents.

Suggestions? Thanks for any help.

They should be documents but it's possible Spotlight on your system is not indexing the files properly. Try rebuilding the Spotlight index and see if that fixes things.
