CPU and energy problem Tue Mar 19, 2019 4:25 am • by gigisteph
Hello,

I have the feeling Hazel is consuming lot of cpu usage and energy. I have a folder which have a lot of files, and tried to apply a "current time" on the "run on folder contents rules" so that it would run only on time/day but it doesn't seem to be better. Do you have any suggestions?

Next time it happens, do the following:

- Launch Activity Monitor. Find the process in question. Note its PID.
- Do "Sample Process" and send me the output.
- In Hazel's "Info" section, click on "View Log"
- In the search field, enter "[XXXX]" where XXXX is the PID noted earlier. Send me that output.

It looks like you are having Hazel go into a ton of subfolders. That will take up a lot of resources. Do you really need to do that? Can you have it only go into some subfolders? Or even better, is it necessary to have those subfolders in your Downloads folder. Seems like it would make more sense elsewhere.
