Import to iTunes: no playlist available?

Hi,

when I try to set up a rule to import music files in any folder (desktop, in this instance) I get "no playlist available" despite the fact that I have in fact lots of playlists in iTunes.

What gives here?

Is your iTunes library not in the standard place? Check for the iTunes Music Library.xml file in your Music/iTunes folder. Let me know what you find.

Hello. I'm using the new 2.0b7 version and I am having this problem as well.

My iTunes library is actually located in /Users/Shared/iTunes/iTunes Library but I have an alias to that location in my /Users/bronson/Music directory.

It appears that Hazel does not follow the alias to the Shared location. Is there another way I can create a rule that will add music to my iTunes library using Hazel?

Ok, that's probably it. I'll have to double-check but there's a good chance Hazel is not resolving the alias. I'll investigate it though I'm currently at WWDC so I may not get around to it until next week. At the moment, I don't know a good workaround so I hope you can hold on until then.

Thanks for the report.

Lucky you!! Did you go to the keynote?

No problem. I only really started using Hazel. Having this would really help my workflow though.

Thanks for the reply. Have fun at WWDC!!

Yup, went to the keynote. Personally, I was a bit underwhelmed since most of the stuff revealed was already revealed last year. Hopefully the sessions will have more "meat."

Was there any progress on this? My iTunes library is also not in ~/Music. I keep it on a larger external drive.

This was addressed some time ago. Have you tried it and is it not working? If so, please email me.
