I can't seem to figure it out:

I have a rule set up to run a script if theFile's name is blank or not.
This works great when dropping a file into the folder, but not so great when removing it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hazel doesn't operate on files when they are removed, only when they actually exist in the folder. What are you trying to do exactly?

If you are monitoring the folder above that one, you can filter on "Number of items" and when it's zero, set it appropriately.

How exactly do you mean?

For reference, the folder is on the Desktop (along with several other folders)

Any change you could explain what you mean? I can't seem to conceptualize how monitoring the super folder would give me any more information about or control over the folder in question.

I found this old topic about 'filter on "Number of items"', if that's what you mean:

Item count error
