Help! Hazel converts my file when renaming

I am having Hazel rename my PDF file but it converts it to a TextEdit file in the process - why?

In the Rename pattern, did you remove the "extension" attribute? If so, then you are removing the extension from the file, which is what is used to determine the file type. You'll need to add the "extension" attribute back into your Rename pattern.
