Will Hazel Sync or Copy Out iCloud Files? Wed Jun 05, 2013 10:37 pm • by michaeljohara
I'm trying to use Hazel to sync the Documents folders inside each application under ~Library/Mobile Documents; for example, the folders:

com~apple~Pages
com~apple~Numbers
com~apple~Keynote
etc. etc.

How do I (or even can I) do this? I can see the iCloud documents when I Go/Library from the Finder menu, but in Hazel's folders window the ~Library folder doesn't even show up? Several blogs online show how to do this generally, but none ever show how you get Hazel to see the user's ~Library.

Thanks.

Sync them where, and why?

It's generally recommended not to muck around with ~/Library/Mobile Documents directly. But if you want to, Shift-Command-G is the keyboard shortcut for Go > Go to Folder… in Finder that also works in standard file/folder selection windows (including Hazel's).

I'm syncing the iCloud documents into a specific folder in my DropBox, as an external backup from Apple.

And DropBox is synced into SkyDrive ... just in case. 8)

Thanks for the Shift+Command+G tip - worked like a champ.

Thanks for the explanation. Read-only access of ~/Library/Mobile Documents seems harmless. :)
