Change all destination folders Sun Mar 31, 2013 11:20 pm • by jblarsen
Greetings!

I have been working on a paperless workflow and have designed a folder structure on my regular hard drive with perhaps 40 rules that sort my scans into their appropriate folder.

Now I have decided I want to move this folder structure to an encrypted/passworded disk image.

Is there a way to bulk change my rules to point to the same folder structure on a different disk?

If this is not possible, Can I clear out the list of recent folders so that I do not end up with a complete set of duplicate folders listed in that menu?

Thanks
Jay

There's no way to do that in bulk. Have you considered using patterns to reduce the number of rules? Many times you don't need to spell out every combination of things but instead use match patterns to generalize the rules.

I am learning more about match patterns and will be using them in the future!

I noticed that in the Hazel Application support folder there are some files that contain my folder path that I might be able to edit. Is this a possibility?

I would not touch those files. The format is not user-editable and you run a very high chance of corrupting something.
