Simple Rule but not working for me. Wed Mar 27, 2013 11:05 am • by Gasport
I have set up a folder in Dropbox where I share files with people. After 5 days, I have a Hazel rule that deletes the contents of any file, even ones in a subfolder. I was trying to find a way to then check the subfolder and if it was empty to move it to trash also.

if all .....any of its sub-files or folders

kind is folder
size is 0

Mover to trash
Display notification.

Does not seem to work for me. Any suggestions?

Don't use "any of its subfiles" in this case. What you are doing is matching folders that contain empty folders, not the empty folders themselves.

If you want Hazel to go into subfolders, see the sticky article at the top of this forum.

My rules for deleting empty folders looks like that:

If all....for file or folder being matched:

- kind is folder
- subfile/ folder count is 0
- date created is not in last 30 minutes

Do the following:
move to trash
