Help

I want to keep a copy of the work in folder "From" on a server in folder "To"
I'm using a rule I found on one of the forums

ISSUE:
As the sync function works its way through examining each of the destination folders the "Date Modified" seems to change (I can watch it happen). The change is long enough that i guess it is then seen as a real change and makes a copy of the folder to the Trash just as if it were a file that was changed. I end up with a copy of the folder structure for every iteration of its run.

I end up with hundreds of copies of the folder structure in the Trash

This seems to have a lot to do with the sync destination being on a server, as it does not happen when the destination folder is on the local computer.

BIGGER ISSUE:
If a file is a "Package" type file -- which of course is a cross between a file and a folder -- the same thing happens, but this time it's not just an empty folder that is copied but the whole package file which can be large. Because of all the time this takes, it sees the package as constantly changing and I end up with hundreds of copies of a package file in the Trash, even though I haven't changed it for days. These package type files are common for me as they are what Mariner's Paperless's software create to contain the .pdf files scanned in off the scanner.

OS X Version 10.8.2 (Build 12C60)
Hazel Version 3.0.16 (Build 886)

Did you email me about this issue? Try to only contact me via one medium or the other as I end up having to type answers twice in case you aren't the same person.

When syncing, any files that are replaced at the destination are put in the trash in case you want to recover them. The folder structure is re-created so you know where the file came from. If all the folders are empty, it should be pretty harmless (they take up next to no disk space). The main concern is if files are being put there that shouldn't be replaced (i.e. the destination file was more up to date).
