Hi guys

So I know it seams I have been posting here for a bit but I can tell you I have been looking in the forum and other places for a solution.

So here is what I want to achieve.

Images that have the naming convention 'NUMBER. (DATE) - NAME.EXT (i.e. 01. (03-11-2012) - Harwich Hoody Festival.JPG) gets dropped into a PICTURES folder and I want a rule to sort them into a sub folder with this format.

- YEAR -/MONTH. NAME/File.JPG

Having read about custom tokens and all that I thought I had a rule that would do the trick but nothing happens. Here is a screen shot of what I made. Hopefully you can help.

This is the rule

I even tried this ...

Thanks once again, this forum really is full of top peeps!

At this stage, I just want to change the colour to see if the detecting stage works first. Then I will worry about getting it into the right sub folders.

I have got to this stage which leaves me with •Name as '- Name of Picture' which is good enough cos I can then run the rule to have the folders dated, job done.

Not to check for updates on my music mission which is proving to be less logical.

For everything you want to appear in the destination, you need to create a custom token for it. For example, the year and month. You are matching the date but you are not specifying custom tokens for the elements within it. Break down the date into separate tokens for each component and you should be able to do what you want.

Thank you for your help. I have got it down now at the level where I can use the rule to organise my images.

Cheers.
