Problems with periods Tue Sep 11, 2012 3:04 am • by max6166
I was testing Hazel and noticed that folders with a period in their name were not matching as expected with a simple "contains" criteria.

The rules match as expected, however, once the period is removed from the folder name.

For example, "Alex P. Smith" would not match the rule with "contains Smith", but "Alex P Smith" would.

This seems to be a bug? If so, will it be fixed in the near future? I would imagine that many users would need Hazel to be able to match folders with periods in their names...

A period is used to separate a name from its extension. I suggest using the Full Name attribute if you want Hazel to not make that distinction.
