Hello,
I am a brand new Hazel user and am having some problems with one of my rules. I work on three computers on the same LAN: an OS 10.8 computer running Hazel 3, a Windows 7 computer, and an Ubuntu computer that hosts my network share drives. I have written a rule that moves all of the PDF files that Hazel finds in the OS X Downloads folder to a folder on my Ubuntu share called PDF Holding Bin:
If all of the following conditions are met for the file or folder being matches
- Extension is PDF
- File invisible is false
Do the following to the matched file or folder:
- Move to folder: PDF Holding Bin
If I use Chrome to download a PDF into my OS X Downloads folder, Hazel moves that file into my PDF Holding Bin and a hidden filename version of the same file appears (beginning with period) in the same PDF Holding Bin directory. (Windows 7 shows the hidden file)
If I copy a PDF file from my Mac to the OS X Downloads folder, Hazel moves it into my PDF Holding Bin, but the hidden file does not appear. (Desired behavior)
Is there a way to set up Hazel and/or Chrome such that the hidden files do not appear in my PDF Holding file shared folder?
Thank you,
Craig
