com.noodlesoft.Hazel failed to load

I just purchased the upgrade to Hazel 3.0. After downloading the DMG, I double-clicked the Hazel.prefPane and System Preferences prompted me to replace the existing Preference Pane.

Once it had done so, Hazel fails to load:


2012-03-03 9:56:29.573 PM System Preferences: com.noodlesoft.Hazel failed to load.
*** -[NSURL initFileURLWithPath:]: nil string parameter

I didn’t see anything about this problem in Troubleshooting or other forum posts.

I’d love to get Hazel working again, since she’s been quite helpful in the past.

I “solved” the problem through the following:

Deleted the Hazel 3 Preference Pane
Restarted System Preferences
Found and reinstalled Hazel 2.1.2
Restarted System Preferences
Used Hazel 2.1.2 Uninstall option
Restarted System Preferences (it did not do so correctly)
Installed Hazel 3.0 Preference Pane
Dragged license file on top of System Preferences
