Google Workspace - Hazel Can't Make Changes to Shared Drives

Hi all,

I am a Google Workspace user, and we recently rolled out Shared Drives in the company.

What seems to be happening is that Hazel does not have the rights to make any changes to any files that are in a Shared Drive. It takes the action, for instance renaming a file, but then the file is very quickly automatically renamed back to its original name.

I have manager permissions in the Shared Drive. I've tried to also make the folders available offline, and I've also activated in the rule the option to first download the file if it is a cloud file. None of that seems to be making a difference. Seems to be an issue related to permissions. Anything I can do to make this work?

Thanks

Does it work on a regular folder on your local drive?

Have you checked with the administrator? This seems to be an issue with the shared drive implementation.

I am the Admin and it works on regular 'My Drive' folders or any other non Google Folder. Its strictly related to the Shared Drives and I have all the required rights in those drives to make the file changes.

Also interesting to observe is that only Google-specific files seem to be having this issue i.e. gdoc, .gsheet etc. PDFs and any other filetype that is not a Google type of file seem not to be affected.

Seems like something that is happening on the Google end of things. You may want to look into settings there to see what is going on.
