A different of into folders issue Fri Dec 05, 2025 12:45 am • by jehale
Hi,

I have been successfully using "go into folders" for sometime now.
Since the release of Tahoe they have stopped working.
The first rule "Go into folder" is fine and recognises the folder's presence.
The second rule looks for files of a certain extension and then opens it.

This fails.

When I preview the rule it how's the "go into folders" is ok.
But the second rule stays looking at the folder name, it doesn't look at eh enclosed files!

As I said this worked ok for a number of years until I updated to Tahoe (MacOS26)

Thoughts?

Can you post your rules and what the rule status looks like? You can't upload images here but can link to your own sharing service, or if you don't have one, you can use imgur.com.

Aurgh!!

I have spent over 30 years in tech support. Of course we are all familiar with the magic effect of entering a client's room and our simple presence seems to "fix" the problem.

Well it has happened here.
I placed a folder in my rules trigger folder in order to take some screenshots, as requested, and the rule worked!

I have done nothing to the rules since posting.
The rule had not been working since Tahoe was installed.
But this morning it worked.

Let's say this has been resolved.

I will now go through my other rules to confirm.
