non-standard abbreviations for months Thu Jul 17, 2025 6:44 am • by Fuji
One of my billers uses non-standard abbreviations in their data ranges, like:
Sept 12, 2023 - Oct 11, 2023

Sept isn't Sep, and it has me stumped. How to best handle this ?

They also mix short and full month names, like July 11, 2024 - Aug 11, 2024.
I have a rule that handles short-short and full-full month names, and I can probably extend that to mix them (July/Aug), but it makes the 'rename' of the file very long ([sdate1][sdate2][sdate3][sdate4] - [edate1][edate2][edate3][edate4]) which works because unmatched entries are blank. Is there a better way?

I'm using Hazel 6.0.4 on macOS 15.

Looking into table attributes. You can try setting up a table with all the possible month names and another column with the actual name to use.
