Things task automation

I use both Hazel and Things.
I have setup my workflow like this:
I start writing a document -> The unfinished or active document lands in my Inbox folder -> I create a task to remember to get them done -> I launch Things on my iPhone to get it over there.
Sometimes I also create subfolders in my Inbox folder, to manage projects with several documents.

See where I am going? Adding a task for each of these is way more time consuming than it should be. And since Google doesn't want to be my friend, I ask this:

Can I in any way setup Hazel to detect any file in my Inbox folder, and add it to Things as:

A) If it's a document, then as a task
B) If it's a folder, then it's a project
C) If the folder contains any documents, they will be added as tasks under that project

And if Hazel can't do it alone, maybe Automator can help?

I am not experienced with either Things, Hazel or Automator - that's why I am asking for help!

I'm not a Things user but it seems you need support from Things, either via Automator or AppleScript. You can have Hazel trigger the workflow/script but the part that actually adds the task to Things is dependent on whether Things has support for this type of action. I suggest getting that working first then if you are having problems integrating it with Hazel, report back here.

I found a solution. Not perfect, but works(only as single tasks though):

If -ALL- of the following conditions are met.
Kind - is not - folder
Date Added - is after - Date Last Matched
-> Do the following:
Open file - Things.app

Only works when Things is already on, and will only open a quick entry box, with a note that links to the file.

I know that Things supports Applescript, but I can't figure it out - and frankly I don't want to. I'm just not that big of a geek. I expect people to do it for me. Yes, I'm lazy.

Does Things provide Automator actions for you to use? Also, the "Open file" action should launch Things as needed. If it isn't, you might want to check the Hazel log to see why.

It's true what you are saying, the app will open when Hazel finds a file(I was wrong).

No Automator support, only AppleScript.
