Hi, for some weird reason, Hazel moved each of my folders (in Downloads) to new folders. Not sure why it reran and reprocessed all folders in Downloads. Anyway...

How do I basically undo this using a rule? I've tried Relocate, have tried Run rules on folder contents (does this go at the top or bottom of rules?), Kind is folder, Subfolder depth, etc.

Basically, can you run a rule on a folder inside a folder inside the watched folder? So basically, all folders end up on the top level (preferably just one folder deep).

Original path - all are folders (Downloads in the watched folder)
Downloads/2022-01-03 (files downloaded that day)
Downloads/2020-10-30

New paths - all are folders
Downloads/2022-02-21-01/2022-02-03
Downloads/2022-02-21-02/2020-10-30
Downloads/2022-02-21-205/2022-01-30 is the last folder!
This does down to - argh! I do not want to spend time dragging each folder out a folder! I basically want all folders to be back to the Original path.

How do I keep this from ever happening again? Hopefully my fix will work - All - Any File and Date Added is after specific date 2/21/2022 (since I want those documents sorted). Then, I'll change it to Date is Before Today - right?

You rule will also match the folders you create and move those creating a loop. You need to add a condition to filter those out.

As for undoing what happened, it might be doable but I suspect it will create even more of a mess if you don't do it exactly right. Search for subfolders in the manual on a rule to get Hazel to go into subfolders. You'll need to be very careful about which folders you match and make sure to differentiate between files and folders.
