Hi there, meanwhile I succeded to work quite well with Hazel. Again, this is amazing.
Anyway, I encountered a small issue. Maybe you can help me, but first of all, i would describe you my workflow.
I am an artist and I want to organise my archive files. Basically, I have a bunch of images that I’m tagging with hierarchical keywords in Photomechanic 6. for example:
A.Photomechanic
1.first set:
artwork > painting > oil on/acrilyc on/ etc... > canvas/wood/etc...
2. I also append a second one
size >200 > 300
3. I edit Description field with the ARTWORK NAME
4. for whatever reason, on Headline field I am putting the YEAR the work was completed.
here is the problem, actually. I am not able to freely edit a Date field, so I came with this solution.
And also I didn’t put the year as keyword, to simplify the hierarchies.
B. Hazel.
reading keywords and fields(description and headline) I do this:
1. rename the file with [DESCRIPTION]_[HEADLINE]_[200]x[300]cm_[oil on][canvas].tif
2. move it to subfolder WORKS > [HEADLINE]WRK > [painting]
everything works well, except when the HEADLINE field is read, the output is with aquestion mark at the end. in the filename and folder as well.
Neutrasomni_2018?_139x147_cm_oil on_canvas.jpg
or
2018?_WRK
my first question is if there is proper field to put the year of completion(it is often different from the year the photo was taken)
the second one is related to the HEADLINE question mark outcome. Can I get rid of it?
thank you, my bests, Sorin
