Deleting and Re-installing Dropbox (Remote folders)

Hi there

I have Hazel rules set up on my Dropbox folders. There seems to be a problem with synching at this point on their side, so I have been advised to re-install Dropbox. Before I can re-install, I need to delete it. As the folders are not local, I wanted to know if I would lose my Hazel rules on those folders, or if they would change through some kind of auto update. Obviously I want it all to work again like it should.

Dropbox support tells me that remote files do exist on the local system even without the app running, but their size is set to 0 kb. The re-install should then pick this up again. At least this is how I understand it. But of course they have no official connection with Noodlesoft, so they could not confirm.

Can you tell me if I can safely delete and re-install Dropbox without losing the folders and without Hazel rules being affected?

Thanks so much!

The folders shouldn't disappear from Hazel but they might get disconnected. If in doubt, make sure you back up everything and export your rules in Hazel as an extra measure.
