Deleting a subfolder after using Tue Aug 24, 2010 6:44 am • by blindprop
Hi, I'm pretty new with this program and have a question about a task I need to do.

I have my downloads folder set up so that any rar files that enter it are unrared and then the contents of the folder which has been unrared is sent to itunes. This isn't a problem, however, it leaves the folder which I have taken the music from empty other than a .jpg of the album artwork and some web link. Is there a way I can get hazel to automatically delete this? Bearing in mind that the downloads folder may have folders in which I don't want to be deleted as they contain non-music files.

Thanks in advance!

First off, please post support questions in the Support forum. Note that the Tips & Tricks forum has a sticky post up top stating this.

One thing you can do is in that same rule, after processing, you can have Hazel re-target the parent folder as indicated here: viewtopic.php?p=1545#p1545

You can then have subsequent actions operate on the folder (in your case, moving them to the trash).

Also, just to head it off at the pass, this functionality will be incorporated as a built-in action in 3.0.
