Hazel and meta data tagging?

Is there a way to have Hazel watch a folder, and then run a rule or script to tag all file within that folder?

Example:

Watch folder AT&T. When new file is added, tag the file with: Utility Statements, Cellular.

Yes, I could have Hazel put these in comments and then search from there - but I'm thinking more along the lines of Tags, Taggit, etc., which use open metadata tagging.

I checked the recipe exchange, and didn't readily see a recipe for Metadata or Tagging.

I think the easiest solution is to let Hazel do what it already does so well - move the data, rename, sort, file.

I've been taking the time to seriously think about naming strategies and folder names. The initial trial has been highly successful - and I'm thinking I may not ever really need tags at all.

For those interested in the naming conventions:

YYYY-MM-DD name typeoffile (statement, receipt, contract, install guide, user manual, etc).

Folder name example:

UTILITIES - Cell Phone
UTILITIES - Power

This way, tags don't really matter. I can pretty much find anything I'm looking for. Using Hazel with TextExpander to name files works flawlessly. Can't recommend Hazel enough for helping keep my digital life organized!
