Cleaning up the desktop - no server volumes

I was using Hazel the other day to clean anything off my Mac's desktop.

I was using it wonderfully to copy files off my desktop to an external hard drive and delete the original file.

But I had forgot my OS X 10.4.11 mac had some mounted servers and their icons were on the desktop. Here Hazel was busy trying to copy the contents of my file server to a folder on my hard drive.

There there any tips on the best way to have Hazel not see the mounted server on my Mac's desktop and try to copy it or it's contents?

I think I'll set my Mac to not show server icons on the desktop for now.

I don't think those icons actually represent actual folders underneath the Desktop. If you navigate to your Desktop folder in a Finder window, you don't see the drives show up there (at least it doesn't on my system). I'm wondering if there's something else going on here. Maybe check the logs (go to "Info" and click on "View Log").

Say, when setting the hazel rule: Kind - is not a Volume as your screenshot showed, how did you get "Volume" to appear?

I don't have the "Volume" choice in the drop down.

Running OS X 10.5 and Hazel 2.3.6 (v636).

I selected "Other…" at the bottom of the menu of choices for Kind (which starts with Document), then selected Volume as the type.
