Copy Images from a CF Card Sat Mar 06, 2010 3:40 pm • by Pocketflyer
I've gotten this to work quite nicely except for a couple of irregularities. I'm looking for some suggestions/help/tips. First here's what it does:

1) Searches for the 100EOS5D folder for .mov .cr2 .thm or .jpg files and copies them to a folder on my hard drive named Images (original I know).

2) Upon detection of files within this Images folder, Hazel then sorts the files into subfolders that it labels using the date the images were created.
Once this is completed it sends me a growl notification.

Seems easy enough....here are my problems:

1) I'd like to receive just one growl saying something to the effect of "all files have been copied from x folder". As it is now, I get a growl notification for EVERY file copied.

2) Every once in a while, Hazel doesn't copy the first image on my CF card....No clue why.

If anyone knows how to remedy either of these problems, please post it here. Thanks!

Is Hazel monitoring the 100EOS5D folder directly (i.e. it's in the folder list) or are you using a rule to descend into that folder when it finds it? If the latter, you could just add the Growl action to the rule where you tell it to go into that folder.

As for #2, you need to check the logs (go to "Info" and click "View Log").
