PDF Keyword as Date

Hello,

I would like to get the following scenario working:

1) Scan document with ScanSnap Software, option "set highlighted text as keyword" is activated.
Before I scan the document I will highlight the date and a keyword with a text marker. After scanning the PDF has two keywords.
2) I would like Hazel to take the keyword and look if it matches a date format.
3) Then could Hazel easily rename the pdf file in the format "matched date - keyword".

I'm fine with step 1. After scanning the document has the two keywords. I can see that with Preview.app on the "Keyword"-Pane.

I have no clou how to achieve step 2. Hazel could not recognize any of the keywords.
What am I doing wrong?

If you do "Get Info" on the file in Finder, do the keywords show up in the "More Info" section? Whether it shows up in Preview doesn't matter; they need to be exported and available in Spotlight for Hazel to see it.

That said, you can have Hazel automatically parse the dates within the file (so you can skip step 1). Search the help for "match patterns" or check the Buzz page as David Sparks did a great video outlining how to do it.

Yes, the keywords show up in finder, too.

I need to rethink step one. But with some example documents, there were often more than one date, and the first matched wasn't the right one... Because of that i got the idea to mark the right one.

You can set which occurrence (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) to use.

I think you may want to go into more detail as to what you are comparing the dates to. Are you just trying to determine if it matches a date format? I would hope it does as you had to manually highlight the date, so you should have already have a date in the keywords. I am not sure of the point your #2 other than as error checking. #3 is easy with A_freyer's techniques in his Custom Matching posts. Does anybody know how, while making a PDF, metadata, for example, 'Title' (drawing title), 'Creator' (as in person as opposed to App) and Keywords can be incorporated?

I'm afraid I'm not clear on what you are asking. Can you elaborate?
