Dates won't appear in filename

I am unable to have dates appear in filenames using Rename. A blank appears in the filename where the date should be. This applies using defined dates from the document or using the supplied date fields. I have tried everything...

Except monitoring the folder using the Eye button, as when I try to do that nothing appears (despite me dropping a file into the folder and Hazel processing it successfully except for the date not appearing). I am confused as to the purpose of this screen?

Did you try the rule preview? What does it show for the values of the dates there?

Thanks. I resolved the dates not appearing issue. The file was eligible to be impacted by another rule not the rule I thought it would be processed by. I modified the rules and solved this problem.

The eye button for monitoring what's happening with a folder: the only way I can see anything there is to place a file ineligible for any of the rules in the folder, it then appears in the review screen. The review screen does not show any history of files already processed. According to the help it should (but I cannot see that it does). Do I have that right?

For some reason I am unable to post a screenshot to this forum (only a link to my server will appear; it does not seem to accept png files).

The screenshot shows a file unprocessed because none of the Hazel rules apply; the columns Rules Matched and Date Matched are blank (as you would expect). Other files processed successfully do not appear in the dialogue - should they?

You'll need to use an image hosting service. imgur.com is one if you don't have one of your own (like Dropbox).

The rule status interface should show all files in the folder being monitored. If you are seeing otherwise, then that is a bug. You can also email in to support with the relevant details if that is what you are seeing.
