my rule won't my my images. Mon Jan 30, 2017 10:40 am • by HoarderofData
I have several pictures folders spread around my Mac Pro hard drives. I created several rules to move them from their current folders to a folder located inside my main pictures folder.

When I tried to run the rules they do nothing. When I go into preview mode and select a single image it works fine. So I can't understand what the issue is.

Also I saw the thread about subfolders. How would I get Hazel to go into my originals folder in my photos library folder, and search each subfolder for images and videos. Then pull them out to put them into the folder where I am bringing all my pictures together to sort them? The reason I ask is because the originals subfolder has 2 more layers of subfolders first the year then the date. I am not sure how to create a single rule to search all those.

The screenshot below is for my rule designed to get my non photos images sorted.

Image isn't coming through but to go into subfolders, check out the sticky thread at the top of this forum.

Note that if this is a one-time operation, it might be better to just search for the images in Spotlight and move them manually. Another option is to create a Smart Folder and have Hazel monitor that if the files are in many different folders without a common parent folder.
