Error in rule evaluation - could not retrieve metadata

Since installing Sierra, I'm getting Hazel notifications about errors in rule evaluation. Checking the logs, I see messages like this:

I haven't changed the rule in question in a very long time - any suggestions?

It means that Spotlight hasn't indexed those files yet. Search online on how to diagnose/fix it. If you installed very recently, then you might want to wait a bit as Spotlight tends to re-index everything after an install/upgrade and it takes some time.

It looks like Spotlight got clobbered in my upgrade to Sierra. Trying to recover now, using tips from http://apple.stackexchange.com/question ... rra-update
