Move from Google Drive to Local Sun Sep 04, 2016 1:02 pm • by dh110953
I am starting to approach the limit of storage on Google Drive and what I want to do is move older files to a local drive thereby freeing up space on Google.

I have a defined folder structure in Google Drive which go down to about 4 sub-levels and what I want to do is to MOVE any files that have are now over 2 years old or have not been modified or created in the last 2 years as this will hopefully move older bank statement, utility bills etc (all scanned to PDF then renamed and sorted my Hazel)

I have searched forums already and cant get this to work e,g I have tried

- (Kind) (is) (Folder)
- (Date Last Modified) ( is not in the last) (24) (months)
- If (All) of of the following conditions are met for (any of its subfiles or subfolders)
- (Date Last Modified) (is not in the last) (24) (months)

Do the following to the matched file or folder:

- (Move) to folder (my local drive). - option also set to copy folder structure

When I ran this it just seemed to move most of the folders/files and ignored the Date Modified in that even recent files were moved.

In summary...I only want to see files that I have saved in the last 2 year onto Google Drive, the rest can be on my local drive.

Any help please

Thanks

I suspect the formatting didn't come through on your rule, but I'm guessing what you have will move folders whose contents have changed. If you want to move the files within those folders instead, then you need to do something totally different.

Read the sticky article on going into subfolders. In addition to that rule (do not modify that rule), add a rule to match the old files and move them.
