Sub-folders Mon May 30, 2016 11:27 am • by kelpie
Hi

I really can't get my head around this.

I have a folder with sub-folders. Each sub-folder contains files.
I want Hazel to search through the sub-folders and if the files meet certain criteria to run an automator script on them. (The script imports them into Devonthink)
This works but it also imports the sub-folder, not just the files within it.

I'm obviously doing something wrong but I've tried several things to no avail. Could someone please show me what I should be doing?

Many thanks

Pat

Have you read the subfolder article here? https://www.noodlesoft.com/kb/going-into-subfolders/

Without seeing your rules, I'm guessing you are incorrectly combining the rule logic for two different rules into one. Make sure to keep things separate as it makes no sense otherwise.

Hi
I hadn't read that but you were right, I needed a separate rule to look in the folders then process the files. It seems to work now.

Many thanks
