Filename contains XXX: copy to folder Sat May 28, 2016 11:53 am • by jantrobisch
Hi there,

I can't seem to figure this one out, even after reading some other posts:

I have several files inside subfolders (parent folder is "Test") with example names:

20161220-AB-SLP-1W-1.jpg
20160512-TH-BTX-2W-3.jpg

I want Hazel to search through all subfolders of the parent folder "Test", and copy the files that contain "SLP" within the filename to another folder named "SLP". Then do the same for all files containing "BTX" and so on.

I thought it would work with "Name"-"contains"-SLP but it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?

You'll need a rule to tell Hazel to go into subfolders. Check out this article for details: https://www.noodlesoft.com/kb/going-into-subfolders/
