skip duplicates

Hi all,
I use hazel to copy and sort photos from location A to B.
I had to stop the process before it was finished. Now I would like to take it up again and resume. How can I prevent Hazel from copying already copied photos?

Normally, Hazel shouldn't keep processing the file if it keeps matching the same rule. In your case, though, it looks like the destination folder of the copy is greyed out, meaning it's unavailable. If there is an error like that, Hazel will keep trying the rule until it succeeds. I suggest fixing the destination folder on that action.

is there a progress option somewhere in hazel? I just would like to know how long the entire copy A to B process will take and where I am at any given moment ...

No progress info but you can use the Display notification action before the action to mark when the operation starts. The copy action should automatically generate a notification when it finishes.
