Question on selecting a file

I am a newbie and had a question.

I wanted to get the most recently added file to a folder and perform a task on it. I am setting the trigger for this action to run at a specified time daily. The filename changes daily but is always in the format of "Example DDMMYY" where the latter is the date. From what I can see KM only lets me select a file with a specific name that cannot be dynamic although I suspect there is a way to overcome this. So I'm looking for a way to have KM:
1. Specify the file by Name with it dynamically working out the date part
OR
2. Specify the most recently added file to the folder

I don't know Applescript so not sure if there is a workaround using it.
