filing attachments from Emails Wed May 27, 2015 3:38 am • by SteveMeyer
Hi,

I am trying to write a rule that does the following

1. Recognises an email from a particular person or domain with an attachment.
2. Checks that the pdf attachment is OCR'd and if not performs an OCR in PDFPEN PRO
3 checks the content for a price and name.
4 Renames the file by date added and name
5 places the attachment based on a price band which is predetermined.

I am familiar with points 3 and 4. 1 2 & 5 not so much.

Many thanks

Where is this email? If it's in Mail's internal storage, I would advise against Hazel for that. It's a bad idea to have Hazel manipulate another app's internal files. Mail does have it's own rule system that you can use for that.

For #2, search the forums as someone has come up with a script for that. I believe #5 would require a script.
