Email messages files (.eml) Mon Dec 29, 2014 5:17 pm • by GrLb71
Hello,

I tried to scan .eml file (email message) saved on disk with hazel ... and based on content of email message to do some action, like move this file to another folder. (Not folder inside email program - I just need work with .eml separate files outside email applications). It seems that Hazel is not able "read" content of .eml files. Hazel recognized that the file type is 'email message', hazel recognized name of file but not content inside .eml file.
Is it bug or feature?

Thanks for any answer (and sorry for my English ☺ )

What version of Hazel are you running? Also, are you comfortable using the commandline?

I use Hazel version 3.3.3 (build 1227). And yes, I am comfortable using the commandline ...

Run 'mdls' on the eml files and post the output.

Hmm, that should be readable. Are you sure there's not a different issue like your pattern not being correct? Can you email support with a sample email and an export of your rules?
