"Could not retrieve metadata" error?

Hello.

I've just created a new rule to organize a folder of images and when I run the rule, I get an error that says:

"Could not retrieve metadata for file: /Volumes/folder/imagename.jpg"

This error is logged for each image in the folder.

I've searched the forums and the two solutions I've found (reserving the rule, restarting the machine [to reboot Spotlight Server]) haven't worked for me.

Not sure what else to try?

You need to look into your Spotlight configuration. First off, make sure that the folder doesn't fall under the privacy settings. Ultimately, you may need to rebuild the Spotlight index (googling around for ways to do this).

OK, rebuilt Spotlight on that drive and it's all good now.
