OCR Not working on Some Documents

Hello,

A service provider recently changed the format of our monthly statement and now my Hazel rules are not working. I opened the document in Preview and it appears OCR is not working, since when I search for the text in Preview it comes up as not found. If I open the same document in PDF Pen and do a search it finds the text. I assume this is some sort of an issue with Previews OCR. Has anyone experienced this before and come up with a solution? I certainly don't want to resort to printing and re-scanning these documents or manually renaming them every month.

I welcome anyone's thoughts or suggestions.

After posting this I went back and tinkered with it a bit more and figured out the problem. I wanted to document it here in case others encounter a similar problem in the future. In this case the first page of the statement was printed on a 90° angle so that the name and address would be visible when inserted into a 8.5x11 envelope. The solution was to simply delete that first page in the file and everything worked as expected.
