what i would like to do is rename them

Have you read the help on match patterns? For the date part, you'll need to use a date token and when renaming, use that date token, but set it to format with the slashes.

Thanks for the reply.
I understand the date token (I use it in content matching), what I am struggling to do is get it to pick the second of the two dates. I have tried matching the entire name and using two date tokens then picking the second one to use to rename but that doesn't work either.

In content matching it allows you to select what instance of the date you use from the beginning or the end, but this doesn't seem to be possible in name matches.

thanks

If you have the date token at the end, without anything after it, then it will require that the date be the last thing and match that. You'll have to either use (anything) in the middle or match the numbers, even if you won't use them.
