Tweak to make custom date pattern even better

First of all, the ability to match on a date in the contents is one of the greatest features of Hazel. I would recommend that the example patterns for month and day (at least, might be applicable to others) display 01/1 instead of 31/31 or 12/12 to make it easier to distinguish between leading zeroes or not.

The problem with that is then it's not clear which one is the month and which one is the date. I find it better to make that clear, sacrificing the ability to tell the number of digits as easily.
[EDIT]: To clarify, I'm referring to in the token itself. One thing I am considering is whether to show "01" in the pop-up menu. My concern, though, is whether it's confusing to people to have the menu show a different number than what's in the token.
