Replace existing files on move?

Replace existing files on move? Tue Jan 16, 2007 10:39 am • by Curlypaws
Hi,

I'd love to see the option to replace existing files on a move. At the moment Hazel lets me throw away duplicates (which would lose the newer version of a file) or it renames the new file by adding a number.

It would be nice to have the option just to overwrite an older version if the names match. I use this facility to keep copies of installation disk archives that I download and I'd prefer to only have the most recent version of the file. Just now I still need to go into my download folder and tidy up the versions manually.

Thanks,

Karen

This is currently in the feature database. I need to figure out a way to fit this option into the interface (it's pretty cramped as it is). But, it's on the list and being worked on.

Let me know if there's anything else as development on version 1.2 is underway so now is a good time for suggestions.
