Delete contents of top level folders Fri Jan 22, 2016 5:03 am • by srpro
Hi
We have a folder on the server that we use to exchange files between users.
That 'Exchange' folder has subfolders of each project that looks like this:
- Exchange Folder
--> Subfolder Project1
-->--> File1
-->--> File2
-->--> File3
--> Subfolder Project2
-->--> File4
-->--> SubfolderA
-->-->--> File5
--> Subfolder Project3
-->--> File6

We'd like to keep Subfolder Project1, Project2, Project3 but auto-delete the contents under each of the folder at end of Friday each week. So users can continue to use the respective project folders the following week.

How do we do that in Hazel?

Thanks.

Check the sticky article about subfolders. That will show you how to get Hazel to check the files in the subfolders. Then, create a rule to throw the files away. You can use the "Current time" attribute to have it done on a schedule, like at a certain time every Friday.
