Is it possible to turn off notifications for the trash and leave other notifications on?

Yes. In the gear/cog pulldown, select Notification Options where you can uncheck trash notifications.

Thank you! I found another reference to it but couldn't find the cog icon. Found it right off when I went looking this time.
